Here it is, almost November already. Where has the year gone?
The Board has been working on the budget for 2009. We most certainly will have a decrease in the dues next year. We are still finalizing the budget, but our proposed budget will be available shortly. This year we will include the proposed budget with the letter that will go out to all homeowners announcing our Annual Meeting on Dec. 2 at 7:30pm.

| President Reports: Woodlands President’s Message - October 2008 |
|
I am pleased to announce that with some arm-twisting, we have three candidates to run for the two expiring Board terms. Please come out to meet the candidates on October 21 immediately following our regular Board Meeting. Then remember to vote on November 11. Thanks to Lisa Cahill, Andy Lancaster, and Bob Woodland for stepping up to run and serve on the Board. Also thanks in advance to our Elections Committee who will be manning the polls on November 11.
We are looking into a new chemical to improve the appearance of the pool liner. Keep your fingers crossed it will work. Otherwise if we want to take action on this purely cosmetic issue, we are looking at tens of thousands of dollars to correct it.
On the legal front, we appear to be stalled in closing these issues out. However we have had favorable decisions from the court and it is just a matter of being patient while all motions are heard and the appeal process slowly churns.
Other than the above, we are doing our best to maintain the Community, encourage Covenant adherence, and be fiscally responsible with spending and funding the Reserve Account.
If you have any questions or areas of concern, please join us at the next Board Meeting. Each meeting ends with “Concerns of the Community” where any homeowner can ask questions or voice concerns.

President’s Message- Sharon O’Donnell
Gosh, wish my birthday celebration would last as long as Fay! I think Fay has visited more places in Florida than I have in the 31+ years I have lived here.
Well, thankfully it spared Pasco, but my heart goes out to all those that have suffered.
Elections are upcoming. No, not the McCain/Obama election, but rather that of your Homeowners Association. We have two Board terms expiring, and need three candidates to hold an election. Yea, Yea, Yea, you are too busy, too disinterested, etc. to consider running for election. However there are two positions expiring this year, and only one of the incumbents are considering rerunning. Next year, three positions expire, and none of the incumbents will be eligible to rerun. So this year begins the change towards an entire new Board and a new era in our Community. Are you dissatisfied with the current Board and its direction? Great, step up and take your turn changing the direction. Are you happy with the direction? Great, step up and ensure its progress. Do you have visions of a new direction? Great, step up and lead the way. Folks, this is your chance to shape this Community. This is your chance to make a difference in your Community. I know you are busy. I know you have other priorities. But isn’t the Community in which you live a high priority? Can’t you take a few hours a month and help your Community, as well as yourself?
Please get involved. Please volunteer to run for a Board position.

| GHWA Official: Woodlands Board of Directors Election |
|
There are TWO Board positions (2 of the 5) expiring the end of this year. Elections will be held in November, but interested candidates need to file between September 1 and September 15. If you care what happens in your Community, please seriously consider running for a Board position. Your Community needs you! Contact the Office or any Board member for more information.
ELECTION OF DIRECTORS
(GHWA BY-LAWS)
Section 2. Filing for Candidacy
Between the first and fifteenth day of September, any Member in good standing, who is at least twenty-one (21) years of age and is not currently serving a second consecutive term as a Director, may file with the Secretary an intention of candidacy for Office of Director. The candidate must also provide a brief auto-biographical statement (100 words or less). The Election Committee shall review the qualifications of all candidates and direct the Secretary to issue a notice to all Members on or about October 1, listing the candidates in alphabetical order and their qualifications as submitted

She also reported a new table and chairs is needed for the kitchen. The Board approved the purchase of the doors as well as the kitchen table and chairs.
